The British Council Nigeria has announced it is commencing Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT) training for about 210 teachers of English language in Ibadan. It said the training is in partnership with the Oyo State Universal Education Board.
Through the training, organizers said the teaching skills of the participating teachers would be greatly improved.
The training begins today October 22 and will run till October 30, 2013.
"This training reflects the success of last year’s training and a
continuation of the partnership between the British Council and Oyo
State Universal Basic Education Board.
"The Teacher Knowledge Test (TKT)
increases teachers’ confidence by focusing on the core teaching
knowledge needed by teachers of primary, secondary or adult learners,
anywhere in the world," British Council Nigeria said on its official website.
For the participating teachers, it said it would help them to understand different teaching methods.
"A TKT award will help you to understand the different methodologies for
teaching, the ‘language of teaching’, the ways in which resources can be
used, the key aspects of lesson planning, and classroom management
methods for different needs," it said,
