The Police Public Relations Officer for the Oyo State Police Command,
Olabisi Okuwobi-Ilobanafor, has said that the autopsy report on the
corpse of a 45-year-old man, Olayiwola Lukman, who died in a hotel in
Ibadan on Monday, would be ready soon.
The spokesperson disclosed this to journalists in her office on this week.
Mr.
Olayiwola is believed to have travelled down from Lagos to meet his
long time girlfriend; and after the duo had a sex bout, Mr. Olayiwola
passed on.
The 35-year-old mistress, simply identified as Bidemi,
went to meet the man at a hotel located on Okeniyi Street to pass the
night.
According to Mrs. Okuwobi-Ilobanafor, the woman raised an
alarm after seeing her boyfriend gasping for breath early in the
morning.
The hotel manager, who came to the scene, eventually reported the case to the police.
“The
man was reported vomiting around 5 a.m. and could not breathe well at
the time the hotel workers got into the room and thereafter the man
died,” the police said.
The state Commissioner of Police, Mohammed
Indabawa, reportedly gave the order that the case be transferred to the
State Criminal Investigation Department, Iyaganku, where the woman is
currently being detained.
The police spokesperson also said the command would work on the autopsy report to determine its next line of action.
