Fire incidence occurred in the early hours of today at the University of Ibadan as the buttery of one of the university's halls of residence, Kuti Hall was gutted in fire.

Doctors at the University College Hospital Ibadan will join their counterparts across Nigeria to embark on a five-day warning strike. 

Lecturers of the University of Ibadan have asked parents to blame the federal government for the protracted strike that had kept students at home for more than 5 months. They said this at a two-day fasting and prayer for a divine intervention in their five-month strike.

The University of Ibadan chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has dared the federal government over the ultimatum it gave for the reopening of the nation's universities that have not been able to carry out academic activities for months as a result of strike action embarked upon by members of the union.
